Soon it was added to the repertory of a folk choral group. Also enjoyed the diversity- Tchaikovsky to Joplin to Kalinka Kalinka (Russian: ) is a Russian song written in 1860 by the composer and folklorist Ivan Larionov and first performed in Saratov as part of a theatrical entertainment that he had composed. Great arrangement and excellent execution - especially among both soloists. I would be happy to visit again and suggest friends. It is near McLean metro, easy to get there. The venue - Capital One Hall - was also great. It is amazing that we have an Orchestra playing Russian folk music in DC. The Kalinka Youth Balalaika Orchestra of Manchester, UK has been active for nearly 40 years, playing a varied repertoire, primarily Russian folk melodies and.
